Principal's Corner

October 3, 2018

Dear Parents and Guardians,

My name is Kevin Stansbury, and it is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Maxson Middle School.  I am honored to have the opportunity to lead our school in these educationally challenging times. I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty years, and I am excited to bring my skills as an educational leader to Maxson Middle School and work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.

The teachers, staff, and I will work hard to build strong relationships with parents, students and our community partners as our school is an important extension of the community. We will focus on character education initiatives, the use of data to drive instruction and to provide consistent implementation of the curriculum in a rigorous manner so that we can increase academic achievement. As your new Principal, I want everyone who steps through our doors to feel welcome and know that as parents and guardians we must work together to ensure that your children have a happy experience as Maxson Middle School students. This school year our focus is centered on providing a supportive academic environment for all students. We are establishing a partnership with our parents and guardians and will institute a viable Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) this school year. My door will always be open to you, and I welcome your input. Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year.

Please note that Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held November 27-29 and school will be closed at 12:30 PM for an early dismissal enabling teachers to meet with parents from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. Evening parent-teacher conferences will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
